This policy explains how cancellation and refunds work for Mavinty subscriptions provided by Loomreach Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), trading as Mavinty.
In short: cancel any time, no questions asked, with a full 14-day refund if Mavinty is not right for you.
1. Your statutory right (14-day cooling-off period)
Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, if you are a consumer (using Mavinty for personal, non-business purposes), you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of starting your subscription, without giving any reason, and receive a full refund.
This is your legal right and we cannot reduce it.
In practice we go further than the legal minimum — see Section 2.
2. Our 14-day money-back promise
We offer a 14-day full refund, no questions asked, to every new subscriber — Founding Member or Standard.
- No forms to fill out
- No exit interview
- No “we’ll do better next time” call
- Just email us and we refund the full subscription amount
The 14 days run from the date of your first paid subscription charge.
3. How to request a refund
Send a short email to info@mavinty.com from the email address linked to your Account, with:
- The fact that you’d like to cancel and request a refund
- Optionally, a sentence on why (helpful to us, but never required)
That’s it. We will:
- Confirm receipt within one working day
- Cancel your subscription immediately
- Issue a full refund to your original payment method within 5 working days (typically faster)
You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed. Depending on your bank or card issuer, the refund may take an additional few working days to appear on your statement.
4. After the 14-day window
After 14 days, your subscription becomes non-refundable for the current billing month. You can still cancel at any time — your subscription will simply not renew at the next billing cycle, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial months unless:
- We materially change the Service in a way that diminishes its value (see Terms of Service Section 6), or
- We close your Account through no fault of yours (see Terms of Service Section 13.2), or
- A specific exceptional circumstance applies — contact us and we will consider it on its merits
5. Cancellation (non-refund)
You can cancel at any time, with or without requesting a refund. Cancellation:
- Stops auto-renewal
- Lets you keep using Mavinty until the end of the current billing period
- Does not delete your Account or your data — those remain available until you also delete them
To cancel, either:
- Use the cancel option in your Account settings (after launch), or
- Email info@mavinty.com and we will cancel for you within one working day
6. What happens to Founding Member status if you cancel
Founding Members who cancel and later re-subscribe will be billed at the current Standard rate, not the locked £29 rate. This is because Founding Member status requires continuous active subscription.
If you pause your subscription for less than 60 days and resume, your Founding Member rate is preserved. If you cancel outright (or let it lapse 60+ days), the rate is lost.
If you cancel within the 14-day refund window and re-subscribe later, you re-enter as a Standard Member at whatever rate applies at that time, and your Founding Member spot returns to the pool for the next person on the waitlist.
7. Founding Member refunds — what happens to your spot
If you are a Founding Member and request a refund:
- Your subscription is cancelled and refunded as described above
- Your Founding Member spot returns to the pool — the next waitlist member is offered it
- If you re-subscribe later, you do so at the current Standard rate
This means founding spots are always honoured for someone who genuinely wants one, not held by people who have moved on.
8. Refunds we cannot give
There are limited situations where we cannot offer a refund:
- Account closed for breach of Terms. If we close your Account because you breached our Terms of Service — for example, sharing access, fraud, abuse, or misuse — no refund is due.
- Beyond 14 days, no exceptional circumstance. If you are past the 14-day window and there is no qualifying reason (Section 4), we cannot refund the current billing period. Future months are not charged once you cancel.
- Third-party charges. If a third party (such as your bank, card issuer, or crypto exchange) charges you a fee for processing a payment or refund, those fees are between you and them — we refund only the amount we received.
9. Disputes and chargebacks
If you have a problem with billing, please email us first at info@mavinty.com. We will resolve genuine billing issues quickly and amicably.
If you initiate a chargeback through your card issuer without first contacting us, and the chargeback is upheld, your Account will be closed and you will not be able to re-subscribe. We treat chargebacks as a last resort, not a first one — talking to us is faster and easier.
10. Service shutdown — automatic refunds
If Loomreach Limited ceases operating Mavinty (insolvency, voluntary shutdown, acquisition that ends the service), we will:
- Give active subscribers at least 60 days’ notice
- Refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription
- Open-source the Mavinty engine model so existing users can self-host
This is a contractual commitment in our Terms of Service, Section 9.2.
11. Currency and payment method
Refunds are issued in the same currency you were charged in, to the same payment method. We cannot refund:
- A different card or account from the one used for payment (unless that card is closed, in which case contact your bank)
- A different currency
- A different cryptocurrency
If you paid in cryptocurrency (BTC, USDC), refunds are issued in the same cryptocurrency, calculated at the equivalent value at the time of refund. Crypto refunds may take longer to process than card refunds (typically up to 7 working days).
12. EU consumers
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have the same 14-day cooling-off right under EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU as implemented locally), in addition to any mandatory consumer rights of your country of residence. Our 14-day money-back promise applies equally.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and existing subscribers continue to benefit from the policy in force at the time of their subscription.
